5 Yeni koleksiyon için kreatif ekibimizle ilk toplantımızı yapıyoruz. Aklımda birbirinden farklı, kimi zaman birbirine zıt onlarca fikir dolaşıyor. Çizimlerimi ve notlarımı paylaşıyorum; ardından ekibimizin sunumlarını dikkatle dinliyorum. Her konuşma, önümde yeni yollar açıyor. Toplantıyı, daha da karışık ama aynı zamanda daha da zengin bir zihinle bitiriyoruz. Bu kafa karışıklığını seviyorum. Yılların birikimi bana, farklı ve çelişkili görünen fikirlerin çarpışmasından çoğu zaman en parlak ışık doğacağını öğretti. Her ayrıntıyı tartışıyor, saatlerce çalışıyor, beğendiğimiz bir taslağı “neden daha iyisi olmasın” diyerek silip yeniden başlıyoruz. Birkaç hafta sonra ise mühendislerimiz ve ustalarımızla fabrikadayım. Yeni koleksiyonumuzun ilk prototipleri birazdan ortaya çıkacak. This is our first meeting with our creative team for a new collection. Hundreds of ideas that are different from each other as far as possible, and sometimes to the point of being opposites, are running in my head in circles. I present my drawings and notes only to hear the presentations of my team carefully. Every new speech opens a brand new path for me. We close the meeting with a more confused but also a way enriched mind-set. I do love this intellectual confusion. The deep experience of many years taught me that those ideas that appear to be widely clashing and conflicting with each other mostly give birth to the most brilliant light. We discuss every single detail for hours only to delete a draft that we have dearly loved only to re-start from scratch, asking “why not better?” I will be in the factory in accompaniment of our engineers and craftsmen a few weeks later. The first prototypes from our new collection are on the way. Our designs will get final once our creative touches are completed. The most precious characteristic of Dr-Light is that it rejuvenates and keeps the traditional handcraft alive. I watch our craftsmen with a hint of pleasure and proud as I know that they are the best in the field. Synthesis Synthesis lies at the core of our brand identity at all times. We try hard to strike a balance between yesterday and today, materials and technology, function and aesthetics. The originality of Dr-Light comes from our unique products fusing different knowledge and ideas and materials and aesthetic elements. Sometimes we reach a holistic structure by combining contrasts. Occasionally we blend data from seemingly irrelevant areas to arrive at a more well-rounded design. We make sure that traditional materials meet modern production techniques and support the user needs with ergonomics and aesthetics. Mostly we synthesize different disciplines like architecture, engineering, psychology, sociology and history.
